M.B. B.S. (UNSW)
  INTEGRATIVE MEDICAL PRACTITIONER

Dr Jonathan Turtle

MB BS (UNSW) 1980                                    FACNEM  1989

TURTLE

I am very happy to be joining the quality team at The Avenue Road Medical Practice in Mosman. I have been living and practicing in Canberra for the past 30 years, but decided it was time for a sea change, and returned in 2011 to this wonderful city of my youth. I am enjoying living here in beautiful Mosman and am very happy to find such a great practice, especially one within walking distance of home.

I grew up in Vaucluse and went to school at the Scots College, studied medicine at the University of New South Wales and St Vincent’s hospital, and graduated in 1980. I then moved to live in Canberra where I became a partner in a General Family Practice, and had my own family of 4 beautiful daughters.

In 1989 I commenced studies in nutritional and complementary medicine and attained my Fellowship of the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine in 1995. For the past 20 years I have maintained significant ongoing studies and have worked as an integrative medical practitioner, using the best of both orthodox and complementary medicine.

Conditions that I commonly see include chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, allergies and intolerances, bowel disease, immune and auto-immune disease, hormonal problems, mental health, anti-aging, and cancer.  Treatment modalities that I prescribe include pharmaceutical medications, nutritional supplements, herbs and bio-identical hormones.  I also speak fluent Spanish for any patients who need it.

Whilst pursuing these areas of special interest, I have always maintained a significant ongoing general practice base, and enjoy the privilege of being able to provide a broad family based service.

My non-medical interests include playing tennis, bush walking, skiing, politics and the environment. Oh, and remaining ever hopeful of a Wallabies golden era!
